These high-performance bags combine state-of-the-art film technology with Cortec’s proprietary Vapour phase Corrosion Inhibitors (VpCI®), delivering effective protection against rust, tarnish, white rust, stains, and oxidation.

Cortec® Corporation has recently unveiled its latest innovation: next-generation 3D Bags powered by VpCI® - sustainable packaging products that offer advanced corrosion protection for a diverse range of metal items. Their innovative three-dimensional design allows the bags to conform closely to objects of various shapes and sizes – including irregular or bulky components – providing full-coverage protection with minimal material waste.

A core aspect of the new line is its sustainability credentials. The bags are available in versions containing high levels of post-consumer recycled (PCR) content and are fully recyclable, helping industries reduce their ecological footprint while maintaining the superior mechanical strength and corrosion resistance for which EcoCortec® is known.

Key Advantages of the New 3D VpCI® Bags:

  • Outstanding corrosion protection: Offers continuous protection against harsh conditions including salt, humidity, condensation, and aggressive industrial environments.
  • Efficiency and cost reduction: Eliminates the need for traditional rust preventatives such as oils and desiccants. Components can be unpacked and used immediately without degreasing or cleaning, saving time and labour.
  • Environmentally conscious: Available in recyclable and non-toxic formats, including those with up to 30% PCR content. Free from amines, phosphates, and halogen-based materials.
  • Flexible and customisable: Supplied in various configurations and materials, including options tailored for added puncture resistance or tear strength.

The range includes advanced models such as ESD-safe bags for electronics and multi-metal items, as well as VpCI®-126 HP UV Shrink 3D Bags, engineered with high-strength resins and UV stabilisers for demanding outdoor applications. Also available are fully biodegradable and industrially compostable variants such as EcoCorr® and EcoWorks® 3D Bags. Certified by TÜV Austria, these films break down into carbon dioxide and water within 2–3 months in commercial composting facilities.

The 3D VpCI® Bags are produced at EcoCortec’s Croatian facility in Beli Manastir and are now available for global distribution. The plant is notable for its strong environmental focus, featuring on-site recycling and significant use of PCR content in manufacturing. Additionally, the facility is powered by solar energy – a further step in the company's mission to promote a circular economy and minimise environmental impact.

EcoCortec® continues to position itself as a key European hub for the development of sustainable corrosion-inhibiting packaging. With the launch of the next-generation 3D Bags powered by VpCI®, the company reinforces its commitment to providing innovative, eco-conscious packaging solutions for modern industry.
