3 days of insight into polymer coatings and their protection for offshore and onshore steel pipelines for energy industries, including oil, gas and water. This is the focus of the 2021 edition of the pipeline coating conference which will take place online from 4 to 6 May 2021.

Due to current restrictions in place regarding travel and safety issues, AMI has decided that the 2021 edition of the Pipeline Coating Virtual Summit will be online. The pipeline coating conference will take place from 4 to 6 May 2021 starting at 13:00 CET, and as it is online, it will allow access to a worldwide audience, who can participate from the safety of their home or office.

The conference focuses on polymer coatings and their protection for offshore and onshore steel pipelines for energy industries, including oil, gas and water and for the past 12 years has attracted operators and asset owners, contractors and lay engineers, suppliers of raw materials, pipe coaters, specifiers, machinery suppliers, researchers, and testing and certification organizations.

Polymer coatings and pipeline protection are a complex challenge for the steel pipe industry: from factory and on-site coating procedures and machinery, to a trained and skilled workforce, coaters have also to consider that materials must offer performance and longevity under extreme conditions while providing anti-corrosion properties, always in compliance with local, national and global standards and regulations.

The conference will focus on the latest developments in coatings, how the industry is changing and the challenges it faces. It will also address topics such as selecting the best coating for the service, pipeline durability considerations and the latest industry innovations.

The programme has been selected by an Advisory Board, which includes expertise from AMI and external representatives who are all leaders in their field and bring their experience and knowledge. The Advisory Board is composed by:

  • Denis Melot from Total
  • Suresh Choudhary from Shawcor
  • Somaieh Salehpour from Seal for Life Industries
  • Jeffrey D. Rogozinski from SHERWIN-WILLIAMS
  • Thomas Stark from BOREALIS
  • Mike Surkein from Surkein Corrosion
  • Houssam Sabry from ICE,
  • Samuel J. Thomas from Independent Consultant
  • Philip D. Tooth from Tooth Pipeline Services
  • Alex Garner from London Corrosion Services Ltd.
