This selection represents a major milestone in ANDRITZ’s ambition to achieve CO₂ neutrality while supporting Denmark’s broader climate objectives.
ANDRITZ has been selected by Danish utility company Kredsløb as the supplier for a major carbon capture plant to be constructed in Aarhus (Denmark). The facility is expected to capture around 435,000 tonnes of CO₂ annually from the flue gases of a district heating plant.
“This initiative holds immense potential for Aarhus and Denmark. With ANDRITZ’s extensive experience in plant engineering and the use of proven carbon capture technology, we are confident that we will successfully implement this milestone project and achieve our CO₂ reduction targets. By capturing CO₂ originating from the combustion of sustainable biomass, Kredsløb will generate permanent carbon removals, which can be used by companies to compensate for hard-to-abate emissions,” Bjarne Munk Jensen, CEO of Kredsløb.
“ANDRITZ is committed to providing innovative, economically viable carbon capture solutions – in this project using the licensed OASE® blue technology from BASF – that support our customers in their green transition. We look forward to collaborating with Kredsløb on this important project and contributing to a cleaner future,” has added Harald Reissner, Senior Vice President of the ANDRITZ Clean Air Technologies division.
