Addressing the urgent need for 130,000 new recruits in the French industrial sector this year, Global Industrie 2026 acted as a massive recruitment engine. The WorldSkills champions provided a glimpse into the future of technical mastery, showcasing skills in electronics and robotics that are increasingly vital for the automation of modern coating lines.

The 8th edition of Global Industrie, held at Paris Nord Villepinte from 30 March to 2 April 2026, has concluded with a record-breaking performance, cementing its status as the premier hub for European industrial sovereignty. Chaired by Bpifrance CEO Nicolas Dufourcq, the event saw a 12% increase in attendance over 2024, welcoming 60,000 professionals and 8,000 students into the heart of the manufacturing world.

While the event spanned 14 industrial sectors, the advancements in surface treatment, paints, and protective coatings were a major draw for attendees looking to enhance component longevity and environmental compliance. With over 2,300 exhibitors, the show floor featured live demonstrations of more than 3,000 machines, highlighting a significant shift toward "green" finishing technologies.

Key discussions on the Grande Scène and within the Digital Technologies Village underscored how the coatings industry is integrating digital twins and 5G to monitor application precision and reduce material waste. For British and European firms, the focus remained steadfast on ecological transition—specifically the development of chrome-free treatments and low-VOC (Volatile Organic Compound) coatings to meet tightening EU regulations.

The strategic importance of the sector was underscored by the presence of nine government ministers and European Commissioner for Industry, Stéphane Séjourné. Roland Lescure, Minister for the Economy and Industrial Sovereignty, noted that sectors such as aerospace, defence, and electronics—all heavily reliant on high-performance coatings—must "seize current crises as opportunities to accelerate."

The international pull of the event was stronger than ever, with 91 countries represented and 25% of exhibitors arriving from outside France, including a notable delegation from Germany led by Gunther Krichbaum.
