By 2026, the production of resins for industrial coatings of allnex will be taken over by other manufacturing sites.

The international provider of sustainable and innovative resins for industrial coatings allnex has recently announced that it is planning to cease the operations in the manufacturing site in Hamburg (Germany) in June 2024 and dismantle it by 2026. The supply of the customers will then be taken over by other production facilities of the company.

“The intention to close the Hamburg site came after a review of our competitive position in Europe for our liquid resins products. The recent developments in energy prices, raw material costs and inflation have impacted our competitiveness in Europe,” has declared Miguel Mantas, the CEO of allnex.

The plan will affect the majority of about 130 employees. However, allnex will shortly begin the consultations and negotiations with the works council, as mentioned by Gerrit Lieske – the manager of the Hamburg site: “We are committed to finding good solutions for our employees.”
