The spin-off from Honeywell is expected to strengthen the new company’s ability to invest in sustainable material solutions, including technologies relevant to coatings, adhesives and industrial applications, providing formulators with advanced raw materials aligned with stricter regulatory and environmental requirements.

Honeywell has announced plans to separate its Advanced Materials division into a standalone, publicly listed company in the United States, to be named Solstice Advanced Materials.

The unit is a major global supplier of refrigerants, semiconductor materials, protective fibres and healthcare packaging. Industry observers highlight that its Electronic & Specialty Materials (ESM) segment — which includes speciality chemicals and laboratory life sciences materials marketed under brands such as Spectra®, Fluka®, and Hydranal® — has a strong overlap with raw materials for paints and coatings.

“As we stand up our new company, we will focus relentlessly on meeting your needs with high levels of responsiveness and the industry-leading products and solutions on which you depend. Our goal is to ensure a seamless transition for you from the Honeywell Advanced Materials business to Solstice Advanced Materials,” has noted Honeywell.

Headquartered in Morris Plains (New Jersey, UA), Solstice Advanced Materials will employ more than 3,900 people worldwide, with manufacturing and R&D facilities in North America, Europe and Asia. Its global reach extends to teams in Charlotte, Houston, Dublin, Shanghai, Tokyo, Bangalore, Bucharest and Mexico City.
