With the support of AkzoNobel’s Interpon powder coatings, Bangalore-based Innocoat Systems is establishing new benchmarks in India’s architectural coatings market. The partnership combines cutting-edge technology with a sustainability-first approach, delivering solutions that are not only durable and stylish but also environmentally responsible.

Innocoat operates in the powder coatings industry, cooperating with architects, consultants, and engineers to deliver surface finishing solutions for high-profile projects, including IT parks, airports, retail and commercial developments, real estate, and international convention centres. With multiple production lines consuming 225 metric tonnes of powder coatings annually, Innocoat coats over 1,000 tonnes of aluminium every month, ensuring it can deliver both high-volume and bespoke finishes.

“We continuously explore new technologies, sustainable processes and advanced solutions to enhance quality, efficiency and environmental performance. Innovations delivered through the partnership with AkzoNobel Powder Coatings allow us to deliver added value and remain competitive in an increasingly demanding industry. Their technical team is invaluable, offering on-site support and helping us optimize our coating processes,” has commented Dilip Kumar, Managing Director of Innocoat.

A key driver of Innocoat’s market leadership is its long-standing use of AkzoNobel’s Interpon D2525 series. Known for its superdurability, the coating extends the lifespan of surfaces, reducing the need for replacements and minimising environmental impact. Surfaces also require less frequent cleaning, saving both water and chemicals. Free from Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) and supported by an independently verified Environmental Product Declaration (EPD), the series demonstrates strong sustainability credentials in line with growing industry priorities.

“The accreditation gives us a competitive advantage, as it provides another layer of confidence in the quality and performance that our coatings will provide. The D3020 range delivers maximum gloss and color retention, even in the harshest environments, and in just one coat. It is a viable alternative to liquid PVDF2 systems and is significantly more sustainable. Sustainability is incredibly important in India, even more so in recent years following multiple climate crises, so our customers are looking to us to support them with new technologies that not only answer their performance needs but also prioritize the environment,” has added Mohan Dhandapani, General Manager of Innocoat.

Amongst Innocoat’s most popular choices are Interpon D bonded metallics, STF finishes that replicate the appearance of wood with the resilience of metal, and anodic ranges. Leveraging AkzoNobel’s advanced bonding technology, these coatings achieve a consistent metallic finish, lustre, and shine that cannot be matched by traditional dry blending methods. They also deliver robust resistance to scratches, UV radiation, and harsh weather conditions.

“We work together to ensure that the technical expertise across both companies is realised by Innocoat customers. We appreciate Innocoat’s deep understanding of India’s architectural market and it is our joint responsibility to ensure that we continually innovate to find the best solutions to market challenges and requirements,” has concluded Şirvan Canıtez, Commercial Director South Asia, AkzoNobel Powder Coatings.
