Water Energy was invited to participate in the inaugural edition of the Future Italy Awards 2025, a prestigious recognition promoted by Senator Antonio Salvatore Trevisi and dedicated to Italian companies that stand out for their positive impact on youth, sustainability, innovation, and social responsibility.

Water Energy, a company specialising in the design and installation of systems for the industrial waste water treatment, based in San Pietro in Casale (BO, Italy), was one of the highlights of the inaugural edition of the Future Italy Awards 2025. This prestigious institutional recognition is dedicated to Italian companies that stand out for their commitment to sustainability, innovation, and social responsibility. The awards ceremony took place on December 2, 2025, in the distinguished setting of Sala Zuccari at the Italian Senate, within Palazzo Giustiniani, and was organized by the Giovani Universitari in Parlamente on the initiative of Senator Trevisi.

The Future Italy Awards aim to highlight entrepreneurial realities committed to building a more responsible future for the country, fostering dialogue between industry, institutions, and academia. During the event, the GUP Presidents, Dr. Gabriele Gusso and Dr. Riccardo Pace, emphasised that the award was created to bridge the needs of younger generations with the issues addressed daily within parliamentary discussions. The goal of the awards is to give a voice to companies that contribute to a more sustainable, modern, and community-focused Italy.

Tommaso Ponara, owner of Water Energy, had the opportunity to present not only the company’s twenty-year history and mission but also a comprehensive overview of its industrial water treatment systems. In his speech, Ponara highlighted how technological innovation applied to water treatment systems can directly contribute to reducing waste and maximizing water reuse. “Water is not just a resource to protect, but a value that directly impacts operational costs for companies. Reducing waste and promoting reuse safeguards the environment while optimizing consumption,” Ponara stated, also highlighting Water Energy’s commitment to reducing plastic through its Plastic Free program, which recovers and reuses empty chemical containers and drums supplied by the company, avoiding disposal.

Ponara further noted that since 2019, Water Energy has extended its commitment to the domestic and community sectors through microfiltration systems and the installation of public water kiosks in various municipalities, which significantly reduce the consumption of new plastic bottles and promote more sustainable and responsible use of drinking water.

Participation in the Future Italy Awards provides companies with a valuable platform to showcase their work and share initiatives that contribute to improving the country.

Water Energy is proud to have taken part in this first edition and renews its commitment to promoting a culture of water stewardship through innovative, sustainable systems focused on the well-being of people and the environment.
