ADIPEC 2025

ADIPEC 2025 will take place in Abu Dhabi from 3rd to 6th November.

The ADIPEC 2025 Technical Conferences have recorded an all-time high of 7,086 paper submissions, reflecting the global energy sector’s increasing focus on practical artificial intelligence (AI) applications to drive system-wide innovation and long-term value.

Submissions to the two main technical programmes – the SPE-organised Technical Conference and the Downstream Technical Conference led by dmg events – rose by 7% compared to 2024. The SPE programme alone attracted a record 6,286 submissions, up 5% on the previous year, while the Downstream programme received 782 submissions, marking a significant 19.2% increase.

In a clear sign of the sector’s pivot from theory to action, almost one in five submissions (1,294 papers) focused on AI and digital technologies, representing a 26% rise on 2024. Notably, nearly 60% of these focused on real-world deployment, underlining a shift towards practical implementation of intelligent solutions across the energy value chain.

“The urgency to deliver real-world impact through intelligent technologies has never been greater. This year’s record-breaking submissions reaffirm ADIPEC’s status as the world’s leading forum for engineering excellence, cross-sector innovation and AI-driven transformation. Together, we are turning ambition into action and laying the foundation for energy’s next chapter,” has stated Haitham Al Jenaibi, SVP Gas and Growth in Upstream at ADNOC and ADIPEC 2025 Technical Conference Programme Chair.

This year’s conferences received contributions from over 1,100 companies spanning 93 countries, underscoring ADIPEC’s position as the global platform for the energy ecosystem. Alongside AI and Digital Technology (18%), key focus areas in the submissions included Operational Excellence (16%), Drilling and Completions (14%), and Low Carbon & Sustainability (12%). Submissions from Africa saw an almost 300% increase year-on-year, while the Middle East and Asia-Pacific remained dominant, contributing 48% and 25% of submissions respectively.

“The convergence of AI and energy is reshaping global progress. The surge in practical AI-focused submissions signals that ADIPEC is not merely following trends – it is defining them. This year’s Technical Conferences will be a launchpad for technologies that make a measurable impact on sustainability, performance and economic resilience,” has added Christopher Hudson, President of dmg events.

About ADIPEC 2025
