BASF and Sport Group have started a collaboration for the distribution and installation of the new sustainable sports and outdoor flooring system with Infinergy®.
BASF will collaborate globally with Sport Group, the largest sports surfaces company in the world which offers artificial turf sports fields, athletic tracks, playgrounds and landscaping products in more than 70 countries and uniquely covers the entire value chain, including R&D, manufacturing and installation, and recycling.
As part of this partnership Sport Group, together with its subsidiaries Polytan GmbH and Melos GmbH, will distribute and install sports and outdoor flooring systems with Infinergy®.

Infinergy® technology
Infinergy® is the first expanded thermoplastic polyurethane (E-TPU) for flooring systems developed by BASF. This material combines high performance and sustainability and is Oeko-Tex® certified. Its functionality, stability and environmental compatibility, extensively tested, make Infinergy® an innovative alternative to the materials used previously. The Infinergy® production cycle is free of residual waste as it can be completely recovered and reused without harmful residues. In the outdoor sector, the material can be used as an elastic layer for unsealed, sustainable and environmentally friendly sports facilities, running tracks and playgrounds.
Thanks to its particularly cushioning properties, Infinergy® is ideally suited for fall protection flooring, which protects children in particular from injury in the event of falls on playgrounds.
BASF and Sport Group/Polytan will present their products at FSB, the International Trade Fair for Public Space, Sports and Leisure Facilities, which will be held in Cologne from 26 to 29 October 2021.
