PPG introduces PPG LINEGUARD coatings that reduce the number of equipment cleaning cycles by up to 75%.

PPG has recently announced that it will launch PPG LINEGUARD, a comprehensive series of coatings and applications that will help OEM, tier suppliers and industrial customers to reduce time, cost, risk and environmental impact related to cleaning and maintaining paint shop equipment.

The PPG LineGuard series is formed by durable, insulative and non-stick coatings that allow to simplify the cleaning of vehicle carriers, racks, jigs and floor grids. The coatings are able to resist the build-up of electrocoat, liquid and powder coatings, chemicals, polymers, grease, dirt and other contaminants, so it is very easy to keep the equipment clean and avoid unnecessary downtime.

Companies are usually forced to stop the production in order to remove the contaminants build-up from the paint shop equipment. Cleaning operations may require time-consuming and expensive spray blasting that employs chemical cleaning materials. Thanks to PPG LineGuard, coatings can be cleaned faster, at lower cost and without using potentially dangerous practices.

The series also include special fluoropolymer coatings that are suitable for topcoat carriers, paint booth racks, floor grids and other equipment usually exposed to high-temperature ovens, as well as solvent-free epoxy coatings specifically designed for electrocoat hangers.

“Paint shop maintenance is a serious pain point for vehicle OEMs and other industrial businesses. PPG LineGuard coatings demonstrate our commitment to finding solutions that help customers reduce operating costs, increase process efficiency, better protect their employees and manage their environmental footprint,” stated Anne-Sybil Bragadir, PPG global business development director.
